Each year C10 Volunteers, Staff and Alumni nominate and vote on two important Awards.    The Awardees are honored during lunch at the Annual Funders’ Forum & Networking Gathering.

The “Pat Russell Volunteer of the Year Award” is presented in memory of an amazing women who gave of herself for decades to Tyler/East Texas nonprofit agencies: from the early days of East Texas Crisis Center , to being on Circle of Ten’s first board, then serving as a C10 VISTA, to coming full circle as a funding rep at the Forum.  Pat’s son, Eddie Russell. stated “Mom loved A Circle of Ten and served on their first board. She volunteered for the Forum, representing Tyler’s Wal-Mart Super Center during the last two years of her life!”

Eligibility Criteria:  
Each nominee must be a past, current volunteer for A Circle of Ten, Inc. and/or a volunteer at one of the C10 Regional Initiatives.  VISTAs are eligible.  Each should be an Alumni of C10’s 3-day Process of Collaboration Workshop.

 

A Nomination can be made by C10 Alumni , Staff, VISTAs, Alumni and active Initiative Partners (MOA in place).    One nomination per person, please.

 

Timeline: Nominations are accepted during August through September 15th each year. Send via email to circleof10@circleof10.org or fax to 903-541-0014.

A Circle of Ten, Inc.-Network for Collaboration (C10) and regional partners make this Award at the Annual Funders’ Forum and Networking Gathering.

 

What is the “Funder of the Year”?

 

Each year a committee nominates a Funder who has impacted East Texas on a wide basis.  The selection criteria include:

 

Ø     Support through the grant process (for new grant writers)

Ø     Selection of a range of services needed in rural East Texas

Ø     Coverage of wide geographical areas (counties, region and/or state)

Ø     Funding in amounts that impact nonprofit agencies’ ability to grow services

2004         East Texas Virtual Village

           (Alto, Carlyle, Mineola and Van Independent School Districts)

 

2005         Verizon Foundation

 

2006         TX State Energy Conservation Office

                 (Department of Energy Grant for Rural Community  Building Initiative partners)

 

2007                                TX Bank & Trust

    

     2008          Dollar General Literacy Foundation

 

Nomination: In July, the committee meets and nominates Funders for this Award.   Input is sought from A C10 Alumni , Staff, VISTAs, and active Initiative Partners (MOA in place). 

 

Eligibility Criteria:  Nominees can be an may be past or current funders of A Circle of Ten, Inc., Regional Initiatives and/or a large number of C10 Alumni agencies.
