Working with the Media Workshop.
Circle of Ten invites community-based and faith-based agencies, local schools and businesses to this workshop in Tyler on July 22, 2008 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Media professional Jeff Crilleyand east Texas media representatives will discuss "How to Get the Word Out" about your organization via print, radio, television, and Internet media.

Air Through Energy Efficiency: Shaping Our Future Together conference
in San Antonio. RCBI Leaders heard from top experts on the
current status of efforts to achieve optimum results in energy efficiency
and clean air attainment. These leaders are working to implement a
Department of Energy, Rebuild America grant to "integrate energy
efficient, renewable energies technologies" into workforce, education
and building affordable housing and community sites.

Van Mayor
Billy Smith and Bahman Yazdani of the Texas A&M Energy System Laboratory
listen intently during a meeting to prepare for writing a grant
proposal to create curriculum and train local electricians, plumbers, and
other trades people in energy efficient and renewable energies technologies.
Other meeting participants included representatives from the East Texas
Council of Governments Workforce Board, East Texas Virtual Village, East
Texas Workforce Centers, the International Polytechnic Institute, the Northeast
Texas Consortium, Rural Community Building Initiative/A Circle of Ten, SUPERNet,
Texas State Technical College, and Van Independent School District. Teams
hope to complete the grant application in September as part of a Rebuild

selected for more than 50% of the children represented by East Texas Heart
Gallery, which reminds that April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and May
is Foster Care Awareness Month. The group also has a new PSA and is working
on a 16-page full color Heart Gallery book that highlights the hardest of

position available for someone with a warm heart and
a willingness to “get things done” as a first priority. VISTAs
– Volunteers in Service to America – give of themselves
to help solve problems and transform lives by sharing their time, skills,
energy, and enthusiasm with communities that need it most. Leaders retired
or fresh out of college are welcome to apply as training coordinator for
C10 & partners’ workshops and training, including the fall 2007
Funders’ Forum. Skills and experience needed: communication and
